On Monday September 23rd 2019, Elsa Sylvia Torres, loving mother of four passed away at the age of 63. Elsa was born on April 30th, 1956 in Laredo, Texas to the late Francisco Davila and Anita Davila. Having traveled from her home state of Texas at a young age in search of better opportunities, she made it her life’s mission to fulfill those aspirations. That same drive and ambition has been passed down to her children and grandchildren whom were taught to never stop in their life’s attemps for greatness. Elsa received her first Bachelor’s degree in Education and second Bachelor’s degree certificate in teaching English as a second language from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. She applied those degrees as an educator in the Milwaukee Public Schools system teaching grades 4 through 12 for 20 years. Elsa was passionate about her work as an educator. The impact that she made on her students and colleagues could be seen in the many visits and get well cards she received. She loved to travel, spend time with friends, but most of all spend time with her family. She will be remembered as not only a daughter, mother, grandmother, tía, or prima but also as a mentor, counselor, and motivator. Elsa is survived by her four children. Richard, Anna, Ismael(Maelo), and Jose(Eric), her grandchildren Ismael(Hector), Veronica, Gisela, Emilia, Ariel, Sianna, Desiree, and Ganesa, two great grandchildren, four sisters, one brother, several cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation at the Funeral Home. Friday October 4, 2019 from 6p.m. to 10 p.m. Additional visitation on Saturday October 5, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. Until time of services at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services and interment at Arlington Park Cemetery.
